Cycling Plus Names Propel Advanced Aero Bike of the Year!
Cycling Plus magazine published its 2014 Bike of the Year awards, honouring the Propel Advanced as its “Best Aero” bike.
“The Propel is a fast-handling bike that keeps things exciting without being twitchy,” wrote the editors of Cycling Plus.
Introduced last year, the Propel Advanced features AeroSystem Shaping Technology, developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics and wind-tunnel testing to deliver superior aerodynamic performance. The frame is handcrafted with lightweight, stiff Advanced-grade composite material. Other features include theSpeedControl SL brake system and Vector seatpost, both designed to minimize drag.
In addition to its aerodynamic capabilities, Cycling Plus also described the Propel Advanced bike’s ride quality:
“It’s as good as the excellent TCR’s the frame and fork soaking up enough high-frequency vibrations to keep fatigue at bay. Giant has created much more than an aero race machine. It’s a brilliant all-rounder with a boundless enthusiasm for speed.”
Summing it up, Cycling Plus wrote: “Giant has another masterpiece, the next-generation aero bike incarnate”
The 2013 Cycling Plus Bike of The Year Giant Defy Advanced also scored an unprecedented result - making the cut for the final final five of the 2014 Bike of The Year Award, achieving a win and a top five finish in two consecutive years.
